“Did it?”
“Nope,” I said, popping the p. “He tried, and after about ten seconds, I jumped off of the bed, grabbed my clothes and left. His cock would have ripped me apart, and I’m not getting ripped up for anything less than a baby.”
“Oh, Millie, that’s hilarious. Poor Jakub.”
“Yup. Things were a little awkward after that. But he soon moved on.” I shrugged. “What about you?”
“So, back when I was in high school,” Olivia looks lost in a memory, “my brother had this friend.”
“Go on.”
“And he used to sleep over all the time.”
“Yeah.”
“And one day I walked in on him in the shower.”
“No way, you got in the shower and fucked him?”
“No.” Olivia rolled her eyes. “Of course not, but I did see his dingdong and he was packing. He must have been a good eight inches and thick.”
“No way!” I nodded, impressed. “But you didn’t sleep with him?”
“No.” She wrinkled her nose. “He was the most annoying and cocky guy I ever met in my life. You couldn’t have paid me to sleep with him.”
“Oh, haha. I can’t stand cocky guys.”
“Yeah. The guys I’ve actually been with have been average.” She shrugged. “Nothing crazy. No porno stars in the making.”
“Yeah, I’d settle for a non-porno star in the making right now.”
“We sound like two teenage guys.” Olivia played with her curls. “I do wonder if I’ll ever find love, though. I just feel like everyone around me is finding the one, and all I’m finding are men that want to hook up.”
“Girl, it’s not just you. It’s the same for me. I feel like a loser.” I grabbed my glass of water. “My parents are always like, when are you getting married, Millie, what’s going on? Why can’t you be like your sister Nicole?”
“Why would they say something like that?”
“Because she’s married to her high school sweetheart and has twins already. And she’s my younger sister.”
“How old is she?”
“She’s twenty-two.”
“And you’re twenty-six, right?”
“Yup.” I rolled my eyes. “I’m an old maid now.”
“Then I’m an old maid along with you.”
“You’re only a year older than me, right?”
“Yup, I’m inching closer and closer to thirty.” Olivia let out a deep sigh. “My mom thinks I should start looking into freezing my eggs.”
“Oh God, no.” I shook my head. “Parents.”
“Yeah.” Olivia gave me a wry smile. “Do you think we’ll ever find the one?”
“Of course.” I nodded my head enthusiastically. “Any man would be lucky to be with either one of us.”
“I’m so glad I met you, Millie.” Olivia reached forward and grabbed my hand. “I’m so glad we’re friends. When I first moved to San Francisco, I thought I’d never meet anyone cool and down to earth.”
“I know exactly what you mean. It’s so different from Iowa.”
“Yeah, it’s different from Florida as well.” But in all the best ways, though. Oh, look, our drinks have arrived.”
“Let’s toast to our friendship.” I took my glass and held it up to her.
“And to us finding new men.”
“And to getting laid.”
“By someone who knows what he’s doing.”
“Who has a huge ding-a-long.” I laughed.
“But not as big as your Polish guy’s ding-a-long.” Olivia winked at me.
“Yeah, not as big as Jakub’s.” I paused. “But he can have a six-pack like Jakub.” I licked my lips. “Man, he had such a perfect body.”
“Cheers!”
Olivia and I clinked glasses and sipped our martinis. I sat back and looked around the restaurant. There weren’t many people here yet, but it was still early. Olivia and I had come straight from work to grab an early dinner and drinks. The old guy who had approached us earlier was staring at us, and I turned away as he winked at me.
He was definitely not on my wish list.
“Hey, girls,” said a voice a few seconds later.
I groaned when I saw it was the old man again. “What do you want?” I asked him, annoyed.
“Well, I wouldn’t mind a threesome.” He licked his lips. “I’ve never been with a redhead or a black chick before.”
“Excuse me?” My jaw dropped. “Are you friggin’ kidding me?” I stared at Olivia who just rolled her eyes.
“You heard me. I’ve got a huge ding dong or dick or whatever you want to call it, and I use Viagra, so I can go a lot longer than the young guys you’re most probably used to. So, what do you think, girls?”
“I think we’re going to pass,” Olivia said in a no-nonsense voice. “You’ll have to use the Viagra on someone else.”
“Yeah, today isn’t your lucky day. I’ve never been with a grandpa with saggy balls either and I’m not about to start now.” I raised my glass to a laughing Olivia. “Now, please leave before we make a complaint about you constantly harassing us.”
“You two are just teases,” he slurred. “Wouldn’t know a good dicking if it hit you in the face.”
He looked at us for a few seconds and then turned around and shuffled out of the entrance.
“Well, he was just a treat.”
“Wasn’t he just?” Olivia groaned. “Did he actually think he had a chance?”
“No way he thought he could have had a chance with us. We might not have boyfriends but we’re hot. Way too hot for a drunk Grandpa McStinky.”
“Oh, my gosh, I thought it was just me. He smelled like he hadn’t showered in a good week.”
“Or two.” I shook my head. “I’d go for an older guy like Sean Connery any day of the week, but him? No way.”
“I’d totally do Brad Pitt or George Clooney.” Olivia nodded. “And they’re both in their fifties.”
“Yeah, I’d do them, too.”
“I’d do Denzel as well.” She laughed. “And The Rock.”
“Who wouldn’t do The Rock? He could throw you around the bedroom like you were a doll.” I laughed. “He could have his wicked way with me any day of the week.”
“We’re so horny.” Olivia shook her head. “We need to get laid already.”
“Yes, we need boyfriends, and we need to get laid. I don’t care which order we get them in.”
“Me either,” Olivia said. “And then we need to get Birdy some action. That girl needs to come out of her shell.”
“Yeah, unless she’s already out of it.” I laughed. “Here’s to us.”
“Here’s to us.”
Olivia smirked, and we both sipped on our drinks in peaceful contentment. I felt better sitting here with Olivia than I’d felt all week. Maybe it was because I’d spoken to my parents the weekend before and all they’d done was talk about how they’d had so much fun with Nicole and her kids and how I should move back to Iowa City.
My dad worked as a professor at the University of Iowa and my mom was a housewife, and their greatest wish was for me to have that same life. I’d known since my freshman year in high school that I hadn’t wanted to stay in Iowa. I’d gone to undergrad at the University of Iowa because my dad got free tuition for me, and I’d enjoyed my years there, but everything about the city was too small for me.
My parents had tried to convince me to move to Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, or Fort Dodge for a change of pace, but those cities were even worse—not that I told them that. I didn’t want to marry a local boy and pop out a bunch of kids. I wanted to live a full life. I wanted to travel the world. I wanted to meet different people. I wanted a life full of excitement and change. I didn’t want my biggest claim to fame to be the fact that Ashton Kutcher had gone to school with my third cousin. I wanted to do things with my life.
“You look deep in thought,” Olivia observed.
“I was just thinking about my family.”
“Missing home?”
“Yes and no,” I said wryly. “I honestly have the best parents, and my sister and her husband are lovely. I love my nephews. Sometimes I wish I could live that life, and maybe one day I will want it, but right now that’s not what I want, you know?”
“Yeah, I know. We’re still young, we should live our lives for us. Do what we can to be happy.”
“You’re right. We’re such kindred spirits.” I finished the last drop of my second drink. “You want to get out of here and just walk around?”
“Yeah, why not? Then I need to get home. I have to do some updates to the budget for Tate. He needs to see the latest numbers for some meeting he has with Jagger tomorrow.”
“Sounds fun,” I said sarcastically as I set my empty glass down. “Work after work.”
“Yeah, so much fun.” Her phone pinged. “Oh, look, Jane just texted.”
“What did she say?”
“She said Marco will join us for lunch tomorrow at the office and then we’ll all go out for drinks after work. She wants to know if we have any preferences about where. Do you?”
“Nope.” I shook my head. “I wonder if Tate will pay.” I looked at her hopefully. “Do you think so?”
“Of course, he will. They’re in the honeymoon phase. He’s in the stage where he wants to spoil her and all her friends and family members. And he’s rich, so he can afford to.”
“Then suggest somewhere cool and expensive,” I said. “Someplace we’d love to go to but not have to pay for.”
“Oh, Millie, that’s awful!”
“What?” I said innocently.
She shook her head. “I’m not saying that.”
“Fine, let me Yelp some places and then I’ll make some suggestions. I have no shame. Ta
te is literally a billionaire. He can afford to fly us all first-class to Italy for dinner and not even blink at the cost.”
“How amazing would it be if he did that?”
“It would be the stuff of fairy tales. Jane is so lucky.” I sighed, slightly envious. “A hot guy and he’s rich.”
“Yeah, Magnolia’s lucky too. They struck gold when they got their men. We can’t even strike dirt.”
“Tell me about it.” I threw a twenty down on the table. “Let’s get out of here and stop being such jealous bitches.” I stood up. “Maybe we can go and look for some outfits to wear tomorrow.”
“Yeah, we’ll be the sexiest bitches at the bar,” Olivia said
“Jane’s brother better watch out.” We walked toward the exit.
If he was even half as cute as his photo, then I would have a fun time flirting with him. Obviously, he’s off-limits because he was Jane’s brother and she’d been adamant that none of us get involved with him, but what was an innocent flirtation among friends? Plus, I had a feeling that he didn’t sleep around as much as Jane said. I bet he just told her that stuff to scare her into being a good girl.
No man could be as big of a manwhore as Jane had tried to make out, could they?

Marco
* * *
“Jane, look at you, you look like a woman. When did you grow up?”
My eyes narrowed as I took in my sister’s appearance. She looked even more beautiful than the last time I’d seen her. Her black hair was longer than ever and her brown eyes radiated happiness. She was beaming and her cheeks were rosy, flushed with excitement as she ran up to me.
I tried to stifle a yawn. My previous night had gone on a lot longer than I’d intended. The brunette had called her roommate, another hot blonde, and we’d had a bit of an orgy. I’d never been with three women at the same time before and it had taken a lot out of me. Not that it hadn’t been fun. It had been hella fun. Though it had been a bit awkward when they’d tried to kiss me. I didn’t kiss the women I fucked. Not anymore. Not since I was nineteen. It gave women the wrong impression when you kissed them. It made them think that what was occurring was a more intimate act. Like you were making love instead of just fucking.
Suck my cock and let me bang and let’s both move on with our lives. That was my philosophy.
“I’ve been grown up, Marco.” Jane poked me. She must have realized that my mind was elsewhere because she gave me a sharp look. “This is Tate, my boyfriend.”
She held the hand of the man next to her. I glared at him, not even bothering to offer a smile. I didn’t want to think about my sister having a boyfriend. She was too innocent and sweet to be in a relationship. Especially with a guy like the douchebag in front of me. He looked handsome and rich and way too confident for my liking.
“Have you slept with my sister?” I took a step toward him to intimidate him.
He didn’t step back and instead squared his shoulders. His blue eyes gazed at me with a mixture of respect and hardness. I knew that it was unlikely that they hadn’t slept together, and I could feel anger building up in me. I’d hoped that Jane would remain a virgin until she was married. I didn’t want her to have to deal with assholes like me. Heartbreak came easy when you got involved with a man like me. And from what I could tell, this Tate and I were cut from the same cloth.
“Marco!” Jane glared at me. “That is enough. Please, be nice.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Marco. Jane has told me a lot about you.” Tate held his hand out but I ignored it. He was trying to show me he was a good guy.
My eyes narrowed as I stared at him. “She hasn’t told me that much about you, and she’s told our parents even less.”
“Marco!” She sighed and then turned to Tate. “Ignore him. I told you that he acts like he’s my dad, and he’s a pompous jerk. It’s ridiculous.”
“It’s not ridiculous for me to want to protect my sister.” I pursed my lips. “You’re my younger sister, Jane. As such, I am your protector.”
“You do not need to worry about that. I am also her protector,” Tate said.
I just shook my head. You can’t be her protector if you’re also her predator, fool. I kept the words in my head. I didn’t need Jane to start shouting at me.
“So, what’s the plan for the next couple of days?” I glanced down at my suitcase. “Are we going to leave the airport or am I staying here?”
“You’re staying here.” Jane grabbed her boyfriend’s hand and flipped her hair. “Goodbye, brother.”
“Jane.” I sighed. “Don’t be like that. Come here.” I gave her a big hug. “I missed you. It’s been too long.”
“I missed you too.” She hugged me back tightly. “Now stop being an ass to Tate and let’s go.”
“Fine, fine.” I picked up my bag and started walking.
I followed them through the airport to the parking garage where we stopped next to a red Mustang.
“I thought you’d have a Lexus or a Mercedes or something.” I looked at him in surprise.
“Nah, you can’t beat a Mustang.” He grinned at me. “I’d have my pickup truck here if I could.”
“Tate’s from South Carolina,” Jane said quickly, by way of explanation. “You wouldn’t know it to look at him, but he’s a country boy.”
“I’m not a country boy, but I am from the South.” He tipped his head at me. “You can have a drive in it if you want.”
“Might take you up on that,” I said. “My buddy in LA has a Corvette, I’ve been driving it while he’s been traveling this month. It has a V8 engine with 755 horsepower. She’s a beaut.”
“Sounds fun.” Tate nodded.
“No more car talk,” Jane whined. “I don’t want to hear about cars. I don’t even know what a V8 is.”
“That’s the Jane I remember.” My sister couldn’t care less about cars. “All you need is your hair in pigtails, and you’ll be my little baby sister again.”
“I’m not a baby, Marco.”
“Uh-huh.” I cocked my head and looked at my sister. “Let’s get this party started. I haven’t been to San Francisco in a while. What’s the plan?”
“I thought we’d drive back to my place.” Tate opened his car door. “I got you an apartment in my building for a week.”
“Okay, cool.”
“Where will you be, Jane?”
I glanced at Jane, who blushed. I didn’t hesitate to roll my eyes.
“So, you’re living with this guy now? This boyfriend I never even heard about?”
“Marco, no.” She denied. “I have my own place.”
“So you’ll be staying there?”
“She’ll be spending the week at my apartment.” Tate’s voice was confident and assertive. “She wanted to be close to you for the week.”
“You have two bedrooms.”
“No.” He shook his head.
“You have a couch?” I raised an eyebrow at Jane. “You’ll be sleeping on his couch while he’s in the bed?”
“Marco,” she said. She gulped and looked at the floor. I hid a grin. Obviously, she wasn’t going to be sleeping on the couch.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, Jane.” I shook my head at her. “Papi will kill Tate if you end up with a baby before you’re married.”
“Marco!” She punched me in the shoulder. “There’s nothing you wouldn’t do, so I think I’m okay.”
“Well, that’s true.” I laughed. “I had the most amazing time last night.”
“Stop.” My sister groaned and put her hand up. “I don’t want to hear about your conquests. We’re going to dinner with some of my friends tonight, and you need to promise me that you’re not going to make a move on them.”
“Trust me.” I rolled my eyes. “I have no interest in your geeky friends.” I folded myself into the back of the car. “Their virginal little panties are safe from me.”
“You’re such an asshole, Marco.” Jane got into the car and slammed the door a little harder than necessary.
“Oh, no, who’s been talking to you?” I started laughing.
Tate tried to hide his smirk as he got into the car. Dude was all right. As long as he didn’t fuck around on my sister, I wouldn’t have to kill him.
